With the project “The Seeds of Ethics<\/a>“, MECS<\/strong> \u2013 the Movement for Ethics, Culture, and Sport \u2013 in close collaboration with Luiss Guido Carli University<\/strong>, ACSI<\/strong> (Italian Association for Sport, Culture and Leisure), and the Italian National Amateur League (LND)<\/strong>, and with the institutional partnership of the Institute for Sports Credit<\/strong>, addresses high school students in their first and second years<\/strong>. The goal is to develop a journey of education and reflection, using sport as a powerful vehicle for raising awareness about the ethical principles that influence young people’s everyday lives, behavior, and decision-making processes.<\/span><\/p>\n

All participating schools are paired with Serie D football clubs (LND)<\/strong> from their respective cities. These clubs support students through an educational journey that combines classroom and sporting activities.<\/span><\/p>\n

After the initial internal phase within each school, four schools will be selected to advance to the final stage of the \u201cEthicampionship\u201d<\/strong>, which\u00a0was held in Rome in May<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Implementation<\/h2>\n

Phase One \u2013 INDOOR<\/strong><\/h4>\n

(1) Ethic Quiz<\/span><\/strong>
\nThe \u201cEthic Quiz\u201d is designed to encourage students to reflect on ethical and virtuous behavior in sport and life, as well as on correct environmental choices to help safeguard our ecosystem.
\nThe quiz will be administered to first and second-year classes during a designated \u201cEthics Day\u201d selected by each participating school, and will assess the students\u2019 level of ethical understanding.<\/span><\/p>\n

(2) \u201cEthical Photo\u201d & \u201cMeeting with the Team\u201d<\/span><\/strong>
\nAs part of the indoor phase, each participating school will host a meeting with a representative<\/strong> from their paired Serie D football club. This event aims to highlight the importance of values such as ethics, fair play, legality, and solidarity<\/strong> in sport.<\/span><\/p>\n

During this event, students will also take part in the \u201cEthical Photo\u201d<\/strong> challenge: the class will create an original group photo, accompanied by a slogan<\/strong> focused on ethics in sport. The photo will be published on the project\u2019s official Facebook page: \u201c<\/em>I Semi dell\u2019Etica\u201d<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The photo will be evaluated by the MECS staff and will contribute extra points<\/strong> to the school\u2019s total score, along with the results of the Ethic Quiz.
\nThe top four scoring schools will progress to Phase Two (OUTDOOR)<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

(3) Optional Activity \u2013 \u201cEthics & Sport at School for a Sustainable Society\u201d<\/span><\/strong>
\nEach participating class may also submit a PDF project (max. 4 pages)<\/strong> promoting ethical values at school through sport.
\nThe theme is: \u201cEthics & Sport at School for a Sustainable Society\u201d<\/strong>.
\nEach school will internally select one project to officially represent the institution and submit it to MECS.
\nIf completed, this optional task will provide a significant bonus<\/strong> to the school\u2019s final indoor phase score. The most original and relevant proposal may even be selected for implementation in future editions<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n


\nPhase\u00a0Two \u2013\u00a0OUTDOOR:\u00a0The Ethicampionship (Final Tournament)<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n


\n<\/span>The final tournament<\/strong>, held in Rome<\/strong>, will involve the four selected schools. Each will be represented by a delegation of 10 people<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • 2 chaperones (at least one must be a school teacher)<\/li>\n
  • 8 players (6 boys and 2 girls) forming the school\u2019s representative team<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Participating schools will receive a bonus covering travel costs, accommodation, and meals<\/strong> during the final event, hosted at a partner facility.<\/p>\n

    The Ethicampionship will include semi-finals and a final<\/strong> match to determine the winning team.
    \nAlongside the tournament, the final event at CPO Giulio Onesti<\/strong> will feature a seminar session on ethics in sport<\/strong> and a scored ethical quiz<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    The winners of the Football Tournament<\/strong> and the Ethical Quiz<\/strong> will each receive a \u20ac300 voucher<\/strong> for the purchase of sports and educational materials.<\/p>\n

    Communication<\/h2>\n

    The \u201cSeeds of Ethics\u201d project uses two main communication channels:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • The official website<\/strong>, which hosts photos, results, events, and activities, along with the platform to take the Ethic Quiz.<\/li>\n
    • The official Facebook page<\/strong>, which features regular updates and promotions, publication of Ethical Photos, and discussion threads.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Conclusion<\/h2>\n

      In a time of profound socio-cultural change, this project reflects Italy\u2019s desire to rebuild from the core value of ethics<\/strong>, understood as a moral foundation for sustainable social development.<\/span><\/p>\n

      The ethical principles underpinning sport\u2014loyalty, fairness, friendship, tolerance, and respect for teammates, rules, and opponents<\/strong>\u2014are the pillars of a responsible society.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Education through sport thus gains renewed importance and must be preserved and enhanced.
      \nSport, once a simple form of social gathering, is today a central element of daily life<\/strong>, with a new role in contemporary society.<\/span><\/p>\n

      In this landscape, educational projects<\/strong> like The Seeds of Ethics<\/em> must lead the way\u2014shifting the focus of education from quantity to quality<\/strong>, from performance to principles<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Thanks to the dedication of its promoters and partners, this initiative aims to recognize sport not merely as entertainment<\/strong>, but as a genuine educational tool<\/strong>, a space of true growth<\/strong>\u2014a training ground not only for athletic talent, but also for values and moral excellence<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n
