Along the Tevere\u2019s banks Saturday the 28<sup>th<\/sup> October there was the first edition of UNIBOAT RACE ROMA, that seen as protagonists the rowing teams belonging to LUISS and Foro Italico Universities.<br \/>\nThe show, sponsored by CONI and FIC, has gathered the enthusiasm of so many students, rushed to the Foro Italico\u2019s Rowing Center to support their teams that has competed with a run of 500mt from Music\u2019s Bridge to Duca D\u2019aosta\u2019s Bridge, giving life to the first competition between this two Italian university, born to bring to our country the magic of the historical race between Oxford and Cambridge which goes on scene from 187 years.<\/p>\n<p>The first run was that of the rookie\u2019s category, on 8 jole boat; to win the first round was the Foro Italico\u2019s Team that closed the run with 8 seconds of advantage (1\u2019 58\u2019\u20199 agaist 2\u2019 06\u2019\u20192). Even the second round was won by Foro Italico (2\u201904\u2019\u2019 against 2\u201906\u2019\u20194), the challenge closed with time of 4\u201902\u2019\u20199 and 4\u201912\u2019\u20196, so the Foro Italico\u2019s rookie won against LUISS.<\/p>\n<p>The second competition was won by LUISS beating the opponents with a total time of 3\u201924\u2019\u20199 against 3\u201926\u2019\u20196. Even in this case the first round was conquered by Foro Italico \u2018cause to a technical problem of LUISS. The second round the LUISS crew swung the disadvantage closing the run and taking home the victory.<\/p>\n<p>Fabio Pigozzi, Foro Italico\u2019s rector, answering the question: \u201cFrom what born the idea of this event?\u201d, he declared: \u201cBorn from the sport tradition of boating already settled in other countries and in the wiliness to chance with other capital\u2019s reality; the idea started the previous year with 0 edition, this is the real first and worth from who wants to study and play and carry on the concept of Dual Career, following the celebre quote <em>mens sana in corpore sano<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The professor Paolo Del Bene, Sportive Director of SSD LUISS, satisficed of the beautiful sport day, declared: \u201cThe UNIBOAT RACE is certainly a unique event in the capital that sees as protagonists two important universities that focus on sport activity; the Foro Italico, as we know, it\u2019s a reality dedicated to sport; but thanks to the idea born from Professor Pessi, Prorector to LUISS didactics and of the LUISS Sport Academy Project, even we are living a beautiful reality with some important athletes such as Avola, Paltrinieri, Stefanini and some more that have the chance to study and play. It\u2019s necessary to say that nowadays we are the first multisport Italian university reality, starting to work on this project from 1999. Now with the champions that study to LUISS we are following the American and Anglo-Saxon model, so we are giving some scholarship to top players.
