Matteo Stefanini: Rowing through the Future

  • 23 January 2018

“Rowing is a passion, it is an emotion, a pride, a thrill” wrote the journalist Marco Callai.

This same passion characterizes also our Matteo Stefanini, student MBA Part-Time of LUISS Business School.

Matteo, born in Calcinaia (Pisa), began this sport when he was 12 years old and he is now one of the athletes of Fiamme Gialle Group.

He took part in the Olympic Games of Athens 2004, London 2012 and Rio 2016 and he won also 3 World Titles and 14 Italian Titles.

When we asked to Matteo why he has chosen LUISS University, he told us that our university represents the best school in which it is possible to reconcile study with sport at an high level so, in this way, he can improve his academic abilities and he can continue his boating trainings.

He also underlined the fact that, during the last years, the interest for LUISS University increased thanks to the same importance given to study and sport.

In addition, he told us that he likes so much the atmosphere created with his team, they look like as a family who work all together in order to do their best and, in fact, the famous LUISS hashtag is #LUISSmorethanfamily.

We had the opportunity to talk with Matteo also about the meaning of Dual Career and about the ambitions for his academic and sportive future.

“Dual Career means a lot for an high level athlete like me because it gives us the possibility to improve study and sport at the same time. In this way, I can express my passion and abilities and, in fact, in my future I would like to continue in this direction, reconciling study with sport not only in Italy but, maybe, also abroad” was his answer.

The most important things are to never give up, to have a big motivation and to continue to follow dreams, values that belong to our Matteo for sure!
