Universiade, Italbasket: stop with Croatia, now head to the Czech Republic

  • 25 July 2019

The challenge for Croatia for 9th-12th place at the Universiade ends 77-70. The two teams had already faced each other in a friendly match before the event, but in that case the result had rewarded the Azzurri. The race at the PalaBarbuto in Naples, however, saw the triumph of the Balkans, driven by Colak.

The best scorer of the Italbasket was Federico Mussini, author of 27 markings. Valerio Cucci also scored 12 in double figures, while Leonardo Marcon scored only 4.

Today is a day of rest for the men’s tournament teams, then on July 11 (10:30) Andrea Paccariè’s team will play against the Czech Republic the match for eleventh position.

The coach’s comment
“I can’t blame anything on the team, the will to take home the result was there. In the long run, Croatia’s shooting quality got the better of us, while we had a lot of fights with the basket.
