Basketball Serie B, home defeat against Montegranaro

  • 29 October 2021

Luiss Basket Serie B plays in spurts, defends with little agonism and loses 70-62 at home against Sutor Montegranaro.

After the great win over Roseto, this match represented the test of 9 for our guys. The team tried to extend the winning streak, but was unable, despite its efforts, to find continuity in offense and a solid defense behind.

In the first quarter, the opponents, still with 0 points in the standings, started off strong and showed they were a team. Luiss seems clumsy and starts off by shooting badly. Montegranaro goes ahead 21-15.

Paccariè, in the time out, grooms his team and gets some results. Di Bonaventura warms up his hand and scores 4 consecutive points, PalaLuiss gets fired up at the first lead on 25-24. Murri in a competitive trance from 3 brings Luiss to +4.

Montegranaro doesn’t take the blow and goes back to scoring. The game becomes foul and the first half ends +1 for the guests. The script is the same: they try to escape and we manage to get back in. Then the mechanisms get jammed, our team struggles to score consistently and this causes the decisive break: Sutor escapes with a 15-point lead.

The team can no longer react and Montegranaro controls the lead. It ends 62-70.

Next game, Sunday, October 31st. Away game in Imola to raise the head immediately. Come on guys!
