Calcio Eccellenza, Ludovico Le Rose: “Proud of Luiss, soccer has taught me so much”

  • 29 October 2021

class of 1996 Ludovico Le Rose has been one of the midfielders of the Calcio Eccellenza team for three seasons now. He studies Law, but is interested in Economics, because he is constantly looking for new stimuli. He says he is proud to have undertaken the Dual Career at Luiss and tells us he has learned a lot from soccer. He doesn’t make predictions, but has a simple goal: to bring home the three points every Sunday.

Ludovico, you are one of the veterans of Calcio Eccellenza: how has the team grown in these three seasons?

The growth has been remarkable, both in us guys and in the society. For this reason, looking at my entire path, I am absolutely satisfied to have undertaken the Dual Career in Luiss. As far as the team is concerned, it is clear that the growth has been in the football concepts, principles and ideas of play. Today, finally, we are able to understand the different situations.

You are studying Law, why did you choose this course of study?

I have always been attracted to our legal and legislative system. This path opened my eyes to many things and made me learn valuable notions. At the same time, I must admit that I have always had a soft spot for scientific subjects, such as Economics. In fact, I’ve started studying this subject as well and next year, if all goes well, I should enter the second year of the Master’s degree in Administration, Finance and Control.

How do you manage to reconcile university with your sports career?

Reconciling studying with sports has never been a problem. When I was a kid, I did swimming, track and field and played the piano, in addition to playing soccer. I’ve always been very active, needing constant motivation. I would like to highlight the beautiful combination of study and sport that Luiss brings. It’s a privilege to be able to follow a similar path and I’m proud and very happy with this choice.

What lessons have you learned from soccer that have helped you in your studies?

Soccer is a gym for life, it’s a sport that allows you to grow faster. I learned that you have to be able to adapt quickly and relate to all kinds of people. I’ve learned important values and met people that I consider true friends.

Predictions and goals for the current season?

I think it’s dangerous to make predictions because there’s an uncontrollable element of luck involved. It’s such an aleatory and episodic game that the obligation of a result is dangerous. Personally, I don’t talk about goals. I can only say that I have the ambition and aspiration to win every game, every Sunday. I’m sure I speak for all my teammates.
