Tennis, another winning Sunday for Team Luiss Capital Advisory

  • 22 April 2022

The women’s tennis team wins its away match 2 to 1.

Proietti immediately started well centered and won the first set 6 to 1, showing the consistency that has always characterized her game.

In the second set the Luiss player continues with a splendid tennis, going ahead 4-1, when the opponent for a physical problem is forced to retire.

Angelini, back from a small shoulder injury, started with a few too many errors, but managed to bring home the first set 6 games to 4. In the second set she failed to exploit a small advantage and lost the set 6 to 3. In the third set, after a great fight and after having cancelled 4 match points, our university player is forced to surrender to an opponent with more experience.

In the doubles, the two singles players took the field, and after a hard-fought first set, they managed to take measures against their opponents, bringing home the match with a final score of 76-62.

An excellent result for the women’s team that, despite the defeat in singles, wins the overall challenge, remaining first in the qualifying round for the play offs.

The men’s tennis won with some difficulty at home the match 4 to 2.

In the first singles Captain Saccone wins the first set with a clear 6 to 0, immediately putting the match on the right track. In the second set the opponent tries to come back into the match, but Saccone wins the match with a 6-2.

Trippetti, always lucid and centered, wins in fluency the second singles of Sunday, outclassing his opponent with an easy 6-2, 6-0.

Gerone, after last week’s extraordinary sporting performance, loses to a tough opponent 7-5, 6-1.

Also Boglione, after fighting for the whole match, unfortunately has to give in 7-5, 7-5.

We arrive at the doubles with the score perfectly tied.

Trippetti-Boglione start badly, also due to their inexperience in playing together, losing the first set 2-6. The second set sees the pair playing better, winning 6-3, and then going on to win the tiebreak match 10-6.

Saccone-Gerone, a couple already established, won the match, thanks to a 6-3, 6-2, bringing the team to a great victory, although suffered, 4-2.

That of April 10 was therefore a great Sunday for our girls and boys, who are already preparing for the next match.
