  • 2 May 2023

On Wednesday 26 April a great victory arrives for Andrea Paccariè’s Luiss Basket Serie B who wins two gold points in the recovery of the big match, between the first of the class Luiss Roma and Ruvo di Puglia.

Thus Luiss is back, with two games to go, first alone at 46. Both last two games will need to be won (in Taranto and at home against Caserta) to close the regular season in first place.

The high-intensity match was deservedly won by Luiss with a score of 81-67.

Ruvo starts very strong placing 7 triples out of 8 attempts and escapes first + 5 and then 22-23. A super triple from Falluca for 25-23 Luiss and then 30-26 signed by Barbon.

Luiss puts pressure on by escaping with a good penetration by D’Argenzio at 33-26.

The match is beautiful and its protagonists do not miss the appointment. Now it’s up to Di Bonaventura who, with 6 consecutive points, brings Luiss up 39-31. Then Legnini places the triple of 48-35. Evidence of escape, but Ruvo doesn’t fit.

Diomede and Chiorsetti, the two bishops of Ruvo, continue to score triples and the guests remain in their wake. 56-49 with a basket from the ground by Mimmo.

The match is physical and tactical at the Palaluiss.

Allodi’s semi-hook brings us up to 58-49 and then Fallica to the KD glass for 63-49.

Perotti’s under the basket propitiates the 65-51 and with 4 points from Jovovic Luiss escapes 69-54.

Ruvo raises an odd area across the board and Luiss loses the compass for some action. Ruvo makes a counter break of 6-0.

Mimmo still has great energy and with a blaze he makes a 3-point play that inflames the Palaluiss. It’s a triple from Fallucca that closes the game on 76-63.

The next match will be at home at the Palaluiss at the same time as the other matches on Sunday 7 May at 6pm against Juve Caserta.
