Basketball: LUISS gives up in the final in Palermo

LUISS plays two excellent quarters achieving 52 points and then slowly goes out achieving 10 points in the decisive third quarter and leaves the field to the hosts of Palermo who plays a great match and wins 88-78.

The line-up of the housing team starts strong and immediately brings 6-2. A triple of Faragalli and a nice basket of Veccia begin to gear the movements of the machine studied by Paccariè. And so also Infante warms up and brings the LUISS forward 13-8. Venturelli has a warm hand of 3 and achieves in the first quarter only three triples. The third quarter opens with the most aggressive defenses and attacks with less lucidity. After 2 baskets of Infante Palermo reacted and overtook LUISS on 57-56. Svoboda with a triple from 62-58 to the hosts. The LUISS seems to skid but a triple of Bonaccorso pushes back into the university on 66-62 at the end of the third half.

Palermo flies to +8 once again and seems to have the match in its hand, the LUISS has the gears stuck but still a triple of Bonaccorso keeps in the wake of the LUISS on 70-65. Gellera brings the LUISS under 3. Venturelli resumes to score. The LUISS misses several free and 5 minutes from the end and Palermo leads 74-69. LUISS mishandled two balls and a triple of Svoboda scored 80-71. The game is in the hands of the hosts who from the second half put a lot of energy in the field and manage to stop the LUISS. Final score 88-78.
