The Italbasket Universiade opens with a defeat: Canada 96-70 triumphs in the first match of Group D. The last partial match was decisive, closed on 25-8 by the opponents, after a balanced challenge.

The top scorer of the Azzurri was Federico Mussini, author of 19 points. Munis Tutu also scored, with a triple double with 10 rebounds and 9 assists.

“The energy of Canada has outpaced us in the long run. On -6 the feeling was that our opponents have started to run again, while we have lost competitiveness,” said coach Andrea Paccariè at the end of the game.

Today his team will seek redemption against Norway, beaten by Germany in the first match.

Come on guys, it’s time to react!
