A golden LUISS in the 130th anniversary National Regatta FIC

  • 3 December 2018

The 130th anniversary of the Italian Rowing Federation National Regatta took place in Rome on Sunday, December 2nd, in the enchanting setting of the Eur lake.

The almost spring day and the suggestive environment that characterizes this area of Rome made the event enjoyable and interesting for the public of fans and amateurs who wanted to participate in this beautiful and important sporting initiative.

In the due senza female, Open category, won at the end of an extremely beautiful race our athletes LUISS Giorgia Pelacchi and Ludovica Serafini, who for only eight tenths won the final on the Tevere Remo of Chiara Fanciulli and Stefania Paoletti, while in the final for third place victory for the Pro Monopoli (Alice Petrosillo and Ilenia Fiume).

The dicotomy study-sport keeps working, as shown on this event by our two top athletes, main characters of our LUISS Sport Program, the program of support to the study aimed at athletes of national and international importance.

Giorgia and Ludovica have also shown here that they always have the right pace, in sport as in study.

The specialties in the race were three, all Open, and involved those present in a beautiful rowing show. To win the double Open mixed was the boat of the Tevere Remo composed of Emma Piersante and Riccardo Jansen, first ahead of Canottieri Roma (Fabiana Menghini, Leonardo Calabrese), and Aniene (Giovanna Schettino and Bruno Rossetti) in third place.

The men’s due senza Open, finally, went to Aniene “A” who, with Riccardo Peretti and Antonio Schettino, they took the gold in front of their teammates Marco Felice and Luca Armani, members of the crew Aniene “C”, with in third place Canottieri Roma “A” (Patrizio De Lucia and C. Alberto Marra).

It should be noted that the qualifications were held over a distance of 700 meters with a turn of the buoy, with the best four times that have played first the semifinals and then the finals for first and second place and third and fourth place over the distance of 350 meters in a straight line.

Our Giorgia Pelacchi and Ludovica Serafini with this important win continue to give prestige to our University as well as to their careers. Thanks girls!
