Cycling, the Gran Fondo di Vetralla kicks off the 2020 season

  • 9 March 2020

Under a sky that threatened rain, our cycling team inaugurated the 2020 season.

The Gran Fondo di Vetralla started from the centre of the town and was articulated on a single route of 88 kilometres. The more than 400 participants tackled a track full of uphill tears and false plains. In addition, a short surprise stretch on a dirt road put the resistance of the thin tyres of the racing bikes to the test.

The Team Luiss athletes who took part in the race were: Nunzio Muratore, Elena Serangeli and Leonardo Mardegan. All of them arrived at the finish line satisfied with the results obtained.

Muratore, used to long distances, commented the race: “Race short enough for my standards, but good start of the season”. Nunzio finished 77th, a good result considering the large number of participants.

Elena Serangeli arrived at the finish line with a big smile on her face. Our rider was happy with a third place in her category. A great debut.

For Leonardo Mardegan it was his first debut in the world of cycling. Together with his parents, who were also cyclists, he tackled the course in an excellent way, finishing the race in 2 hours and 50 minutes.

Coach Luigi Bielli was very satisfied with his athletes. Come on guys, keep going!
