Basketball B league makes three in a row: Partenope Sant’Antimo beaten in overtime

  • 17 April 2021

Third consecutive victory for Basket Serie B, that continues to amaze and beats Partenope Sant’Antimo in the final seconds. A playoff match, a match with a thousand faces: intense, exciting and with continuous changes of front.

The team starts very strong and, with D’Argenzio and Martino in great shape from long range, flies on 24-9. Guests start to grind the game, but the boys continue to score with continuity and thanks to a superiority in rebounding, they take advantage of second shots. We go to rest with a well-deserved 43-31 for us.

In the third quarter, the inertia of the game changes completely and with a partial of 12-6 Partenope comes back under. The game gets heated: the team raises the pressure in defense and our percentages drop dramatically. Martino fights like a lion and, as usual, gives second attacks to his shooters.

Sant’Antimo believes and closes the half with a nice triple that makes it 54-52. The last quarter is all to play for. As often happens, the inertia passes to the guests, who run on +8 with their maximum advantage. Luiss, on the other hand, accuses the tiredness and relies on the outside shot, but it doesn’t enter anymore.

The game seems to be in Partenope’s hands, but Infante opens it up again with a resounding 6-0. Murri makes his presence felt by opponents and with two nice penetrations gives Paccariè’s guys a new advantage. It seems to be closed again, but Carnovali puts everything back on the table with a huge triple. Error after error at the free throws take the game to overtime.

The teams are very tired. It’s time to bring out the pride. Martino shows his muscles, but the guests come back down by 1 at 30 seconds to the end. There’s the shadow of the second overtime, but Pasqualin creates a wonderful assist for Infante, who closes for the final 80-77.

Super victory, as a real team. The tour de force of Luiss, however, does not stop here. Now appointment for Saturday, April 17 at 18, for the challenge against the third in the standings Nardo.

Come on guys!
