Women’s basketball, Luiss Roma wins in the first round of the C series playoffs

The match of the first round of the playoffs will be played on Saturday 18 March in which Luiss Roma women’s basketball meets Montesacro again, at the opponent’s home.

The match opens immediately with Luiss who, with enthusiasm and driven by Goliath into a great evening, scores the first points finishing the first quarter with an advantage of three lengths. The ten minutes in the second quarter are certainly the minutes in which our Luiss manages to give the best of herself: 14 points are scored and the first half ends 16-24 in favor of Luiss.

Montesacro does not give up and, action after action, the gap is partially closed, but the advantage is still for Luiss and the quarter ends 29-33.

The last quarter is the decisive one and sees the two teams fight hard: whoever has the most desire to get involved in order to win and therefore access the next stage of the play-offs prevails. 15 seconds from the end of the game, Luiss is at a disadvantage, one length behind Montesacro, but the game is not over yet and so, our university students, more gritty than ever, find the flash for the winning basket with the captain, with just 2 seconds left.

The match therefore ends 40-41 for Luiss who, not only can thus access the next round, but can also boast of having passed the first round of the Serie C play-offs, for the first time in the history of Luiss.
