Swimming, the Luiss Intesa Sanpaolo Team competes in the absolute regional finals

On Sunday 26 March the absolute regional swimming finals of Lazio were held at the Federal Center of Anzio.

Once again our male and female athletes from the Luiss Intesa Sanpaolo swimming team performed well in this important mid-season event, establishing top-level times.

It immediately started well in the first part with Lorenzo Piferi who in the 100m breaststroke, with 1.09.0, signs his best time in the long course. A few minutes later two excellent performances arrived in the 50m freestyle with Lorenzo D’ Angelo, a breath away from his personal best, with 23.88, finishing fourth overall in the region, and Raffaele Fabiano who lowered his best time for the third time this year on the 50sl. By swimming 23.86, the team captain thus conquered the third place overall, entering the history of the university team as the first athlete to achieve this important result.

In the second part of the competition the girls Costanza Emanuele and Costanza Poerio competed in the 50m and 100m backstroke, signing times very close to their personal ones, but which do not yet fully represent their potential. The 50m freestyle sprinters also competed in the 100m freestyle where a slightly too controlled passage did not allow them to express themselves to the best of their abilities. In closing the 50m breaststroke of Lorenzo Piferi who with 31.7 touches the personal best of just a tenth.
