6 participating universities, including 4 European and 2 Italian and 18 holes stroke play scratch.

Milan, 4 and 5 May 2023. The Luiss Guido Carli University will represent Italy, together with its opponent Bocconi, at the Euromilano 2023 international university tournament, which will be held on 4 and 5 May. The Luiss Golf VMWay team, led by coach Daniele Bagliano, will participate in the competition in Tolcinasco Pieve Emanuele.

Student athletes Jacopo Albertoni, Gregorio Alibrandi and Edoardo Schiavella will thus return to meet their opponents from Bocconi after the last Golf Friendly Match, held on 7 October 2022 in Rome. Together with the two Italian universities, the teams of Ghent University, Stockholm School of Economics and ESCP Business School will also take to the green.

The match will be an opportunity to get back to talking about sport, study and mutual growth, in an international environment that sees our young golfers as undisputed protagonists. With them, the Luiss Cheerleader team will participate in the event, which will perform at the final awards ceremony scheduled for May 6th.

The team captain, Jacopo Albertoni, says he is “excited to participate in the first edition of the Euromilano tournament, with the Luiss golf team. Clashing against other universities and players will be an opportunity to confront each other both from a sporting and human point of view”.

Coach Daniele Bagliano comments on this participation as follows: “Luiss golf team is participating for the first time in Euromilano, a European university team championship with a very Smart formula, 18 holes in one day – 9 greensome holes and 9 medal holes . We are aware of the responsibility, we want to do well, there will be other universities, including foreign ones: only by playing will we understand if we have taken a step forward this year. The Tolcinasco field is an excellent testing ground. I thank the sports manager Paolo del Bene and VMWay who continue to believe in golf and we hope to repay their trust. Cheer for us!”

Great enthusiasm can also be felt among the Cheerleaders, as can be seen from the words of Captain Beatrice Avallone: “We were born only two years ago and we live to move and cheer to the music. Dance is our only creed. We want to see you move with us”.

Andrea Celli, CEO of VMWay concludes: “It is always nice to see young athletes, who face the Dual Career with self-sacrifice, find themselves in international commitments carrying forward important values, typical of Luiss and VMWay, such as commitment, preparation, spirit teamwork and the desire to achieve the goal. I’m sure it will be a new exciting challenge based on fair play that our student athletes will approach in the best possible way”.
