Luiss Sport Lab

The Luiss Sport Lab “Gianni Delfini” was created as a research and performance evaluation center, designed to enhance both athletic and human potential. It integrates scientific foundations and digital tools to help individuals reach their maximum capacity.

Since its establishment in 2017, the focus and consistency of the Lab’s activities have led to the continuous development and refinement of its research protocols. The measurements of both cognitive and physical abilities have shown a very high degree of reliability in the tests performed.

Over the years, the main objective has remained the same: to conduct research and apply it directly to the improvement of sports performance.

Research, data analysis, and data processing have been essential to the Lab’s work—carried out with passion and professionalism by our dedicated technical and scientific team.

From Sports to Business

Starting with the initial tests on AS Luiss competitive teams—Basketball Serie B, Excellence Football, Women’s Volleyball, and Luiss Top Athletes such as Filippo Tortu, Eloisa Coiro, Davide Di Veroli, and Giorgio Avola—the Lab’s methodology was gradually adapted and applied to the corporate environment.

In July 2019, Luiss University management participated in a pilot program, paving the way for the project’s extension to the entire administrative staff. This led to the development of a Corporate Welfare Analysis Protocol, based on a data correlation model known as the Luiss Sport Lab Index.

This index measures the psychophysical well-being of participants, by analyzing and correlating their cognitive and physical abilities.
