Basketball Serie B, the Luiss BNL wins over Cesena with a compelling game

High quality match that played and won by Luiss BNL against Cesena forced to surrender: the university players of coach Paccariè, with a great performance, closed the match 75-59.

The first quarter ended 16-13 for Luiss that, despite a cold hand from long distance, took the lead thanks to Converso and Di Bonaventura. It’s an edgy game where defenses lead the times.

In the second quarter Luiss tries to accelerate, but no team is able to score with continuity. We go to rest 30-27 for our team.

In the second half the teams raise the offensive intensity and the game gets alive. Thanks to a nice shot by Legnini and then a powerful one by Barbon, Luiss goes up 44-39. The team pushes again and the quarter ends 52-45 with a triple by Di Bonaventura.

Luiss has the game in hand: Legnini brings us to 54-45, then Cesena goes back down, but Legnini again from long range keeps the opponents at 57-50.

The game heats up and we see a beautiful transition by Pasqualin with Legnini finishing with a foul: the score is 60-50 for ours.

A stoppage by Converso opens a counterattack closed by a triple by Murri that makes us lead 62-50.

Cesena, however, doesn’t give up and scores a 5-0 minibreak thanks to Moretti. Jovovic’s power and Murri’s three make it 5-0 Luiss. The match is gripping and is played at a very high pace. Luiss, pushed by its fans and with Murri in great shape, scores the triple for the 72-59.

Final score 75-59.

Four days before the end of the championship, Luiss will play next week in Jesi to try to climb the standings again.
