Viola Angelini, the college tennis player with many dreams in her drawer

  • 22 April 2022

Viola Angelini is in her first year of university, but between a forehand and a backhand, she cultivates many dreams and projects: she has just won an individual tournament wearing the Luiss jersey, while training with the Luiss Capital Advisory Tennis team:

1.You have just won the last tournament in which you participated individually: can you tell us briefly how it went?

Winning the last tournament was a surprise for me, given the year full of injuries and with few matches behind. At the same time I was very happy because I won some matches in which I was always under the score and in the end, maybe with a bit more luck and experience than my opponents, I was able to overturn the result and bring home the tournament.

You are also part of the Luiss Capital Advisory Tennis Team: do you cheer each other on or does the spirit of competition prevail?

I am very happy to be part of this team because a good group has been created, first of all of friends and then of teammates. I’m happy to have had the opportunity to take part in this experience, which I consider formative both from a sporting and a human point of view.

3. You are busy with training during the week and with tournaments and matches on the weekend: how do you manage to study? Can you find time for other hobbies?

I am busy almost every day with training and team tournaments on the weekend, while for individual tournaments I can play in the middle of the week. It’s a lot of work, but I’ve always done this in my life and I manage to organize myself well with my studies and training. It’s not easy, but I manage to carve out some free time to take walks and meet with friends, taking advantage of every moment of the day, since I have little time left.

4. What plans do you have when you finish your university studies? Do you have a dream in your drawer?

I have a lot of dreams in my drawer and many projects to realize, but since I’m still in my first year of university I don’t feel like going out on a limb. However, I’m sure that with the stubbornness that characterizes my character I’ll be able to reach at least part of the goals I’ve set for myself.
