Sofia Goggia drops poker: four-time world champion
Our Top Athlete Sofia Goggia drops her poker by winning the World Cup downhill in Kvitfjell for the fourth time after those in 2018, 2021 and 2022.
Even before she started in the Kvitfjell downhill, the last one before the finals in Soldeu, Sofia’s lead was more than 100 points. She eventually finished 29 hundredths behind Norway’s Kajsa Lie (1’32″36) for her seventh podium finish of the season. She thus continues a dream season studded with victories: five downhill runs out of eight contested, then two second places and one fall (in Cortina).
In the classic specialty she dominates unchallenged. Congratulations, Sofia!
