Experience on the court and in mental coaching: Juan Manuel Fernandez joins the AS Luiss organization
A top-level new arrival within AS Luiss: starting from the 2025/26 season, Juan Manuel Fernández will in fact be part of the biancoblu club.
The basketball player, born in Río Tercero (Argentina) in 1990, 193 cm, 83 kg, point/shooting guard with a long career in the Italian Serie A and A2 (after signing his first professional contract with Olimpia Milano, in Italy he played for Brescia, Sassari, Trieste and Venice), will join the Luiss Sport organization in a prominent role.
With a three-year agreement, Fernández (who holds both Argentine and Italian passports) will be a member of the Luiss Roma Basketball team and will also be involved in the Luiss Sport Lab project as a Mental Coach supporting all athletes within the Luiss Sport Academy: a dual role in which he will offer all his skills and professionalism, developed through the experiences of his important career.
Juan, nicknamed “Lobito,” is enthusiastic about his new adventure in the capital: “From the moment the Luiss project was presented to me, I was immediately impressed. Its philosophy reflects the way I have always lived my career: giving equal value to both personal and athletic development. Today I try to help other athletes find their path with the same vision. Choosing Luiss at this stage of my career is in line with what I have always believed in and is proof that every step of my journey has brought me here. I am happy to be part of this organization. I hope to give my contribution on and off the court, continuing to support those who have the courage to invest in themselves. I thank Luiss and all the people who made this opportunity possible.”
