Sport Centric Value Creation
Achieving success in both sports and professional life is a complex journey that must be carefully prepared even before university, especially for student-athletes, within a “large learning” perspective.
Commitment, motivation, and responsibility are integral parts of a student-athlete’s toolkit, but these alone may not be enough unless guided by a structured path that develops the skills necessary to excel both in sport and in professional life after the end of an athletic career.
Those who embark on this path face numerous challenges: balancing academics and intense training, maintaining high focus on both fronts, responding to high levels of competition both in sports and in studies, and ultimately “shaping the leaders of tomorrow.”
The “Sport Centric Value Creation” seminar series aims to provide a comprehensive overview of what a student-athlete needs to plan in order to build a high-level future in both athletic and professional domains. The Dual Career is, in fact, a holistic educational journey, incorporating multiple components, each supporting the other. When well integrated, these elements allow the student-athlete to enhance learning ability, adapt to change, and withstand pressure:
- The choice of youth sports clubs: “The economic, reputational, and ethical value of youth development systems for professional teams”
- Cognition and motion: “Managing the body and physical training in the medium to long term”
- Mental strength and psychology: “Managing focus and developing appropriate self-esteem”
- Ethics: “Achieving success without shortcuts”
- Nutrition: “Nutritional balance for physical and psychological growth”
Each topic is addressed in a dedicated session, featuring expert insights, empirical analysis, and relevant case studies.
