Cycling, Elena Serangeli of Team Luiss BMW Rome arrives second at the Gran Fondo Strade Rosa
The Gran Fondo Strade Rosa is the cycling race reserved only for women held on Monday, April 25, in Sabina, in the town of Castelnuovo di Farfa, on a path of about 90 km and 1500 meters of elevation gain.
The participation was very high: despite the uncertain weather, young women cyclists from all over Italy came to this annual event where they have the opportunity to compete on equal terms, without the help of men and wingmen.
For the first 30 kilometers of the race the whole group pedaled together. At the first climb, however, a breakaway of 5 athletes was created. Among them there was our Elena Serangeli, of the Team Luiss Ciclismo BMW. The university student was part of the chasing group.
The Gran Fondo Strade Rosa ended with Serangeli in ninth place overall and second in her category.
Congratulations Elena, keep it up!
