Yoga: instructor Simona Abenavoli reveals her methodology
Yesterday, in the Multipurpose Hall of the Viale Romania campus, one of the Yoga lessons promoted by the Luiss Sports Association and coordinated by the teacher Simona Abenavoli took place. The course, which will end in May, takes place from October every two weeks, on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 08:30.
The lessons have been very successful: the group in fact has almost 40 students, all very involved and enthusiastic.
The methodology of Simona Abenavoli
The course follows the methodology developed by the teacher, which provides these guidelines:
Great attention to the breath during the execution of each movement
Search for the fluidity of movement
A start always marked by muscle stretching
A central toning phase
A final phase focused on balance.
The attention to the breath is fundamental, because according to the teacher “it is fundamental to find the right concentration“. The latter, in turn, leads to calm, which ultimately leads to focus and “thoughtful management of problems and situations”.
Both physical and mental activity: the two dimensions combine to find the right balance, which is essential to start the day in the best possible way.
Another very particular aspect that the teacher underlines is the sense of group and participation that has been created. “The work is simple, pleasant and constructive,” says Simona, “the pupils are absolutely enthusiastic and involved.
