Tortu and Luiss: together to reach some new objectives
Filippo Tortu, Italian athletics’ young promise, is one of the national and Olympian athletes that have chosen to study at LUISS and to embrace the Dual Careeer Project. On this argument, he has released an interview for Corriere delle Sport on his present and future perspective.
There were important days for the light blue sprinter that in addition to prepare the next match, has also taken some important decision under the aspect of education; in fact, Filippo has just signed up to LUISS, where thanks to an important scholarship and to university service (possibility to follow courses at distance, tutor, accommodation) will have the opportunity to associate study with sportive activity.
The choose wasn’t simple at all because he received some offer, and between them even two from Miami and Huston University: “I’ve received some offer from USA’s university, but I preferred to remain in Italy. What more can offer me in the United States when I have a lot of opportunity here in LUISS?”. The ex-athlete of Yellow Flames hadn’t doubts on the decision, bounded also at Rome by which is extremely attracted.
“I’m in love with this city and now will be mu second home after the matriculation to the Economics and Management degree at LUISS. I have thought to a university based in Milan, then arrived this gold occasion of scholarship and I didn’t let it go. At the beginning I was scared, but LUISS let me to follow courses at distance, I have a disposition a tutor and even the accommodation when I’m in Rome”.
Now all the attentions are focused on the next European championship in Berlin where Filippo will take part and where he will try to climb on the highest step of the podium. Actually, is one of the athletes to beat but for now, for his mentality and his setting, the key words are trainings and humility: “For now with trainings I don’t want to run too much with fantasy”.
