Swimming, the Luiss Swim Team is full of medals also in Legnano
At the 13th Master Trophy of the City of Legnano, more than 910 swimmers jumped into the water representing 75 companies. A confirmation of how the meeting of the FIN Supermaster Circuit is the most requested of the season. A much higher bar for the Luiss Swim Team, which in its first trip showed that it could only do one thing: win.
Things are clear from the start. To open the program of the morning there are the 200 breast strokes, where Edoardo Cortopassi (2.32.76) and Emanuele Greco (2.35.86) triumph in their respective categories.
It’s time for the fastest race, the 50 free style: it’s forbidden to make mistakes. As usual the first to go into the water are the girls: Sofia Malagnino is golden in 28.81. Michela Rudelli, inclined to longer distances, closes with an excellent 31.52 finishing in the top 10.
The boys followed: Marco Impagnatiello, fresh from his degree, broke the 30-second barrier (29.93), always important in the two dry tanks. Marco Albano continues to improve, falling to 28.13. At one step from the podium, Mauro Immediato fourth with 24.62 and Luigi Perricone sixth at 25.79. The very nice Sardinian Francesco Canu wins the silver in 25.14 and a spaceman Alberto Crosato triumphs in 23.97. Only applause and congratulations for them.
It’s time for the 100 mixed, always fun to see race. Carolina Rubino wins bronze in 1.15.76. Luigi Perricoine (1.03.12) did the same, while Andrea Cerrocchi (1.04.66) finished fifth. Cosmo Lucreziano also finished fifth in the 50th butterfly in 29.45.
The morning of races ends with the mixed 4×50 (two men and two women), where the Luiss Swim Team line-up Rubino-Cortopassi-Perricone-Malagnino. A brilliant performance, well under two minutes (1.58.51).
The afternoon session opens with the queen race, the 100 freestyle. Sofia Malagnino is silver thanks to an excellent 1.02.95, Michela Rudelli closes below the minute and ten (1.09.50).
The boys did not disappoint: Marco Impagnatiello, at his debut in the longest distance, swims 1.08.27, while Marco Albano closes in 1.04.41. Francesco Canu (55.51) and Mauro Immadiato (54.43) reached the third step of the podium in their respective categories. Alberto Crosato dominates in 52.85 and is unstoppable. A time unimaginable also for the technicians Andrea Gargallo and Alessandro Terrin, surprised by his change of pace.
Finally a race on the back: Carolina Rubino wins the 100 in 1.11.32 and Andrea Cerrocchi finishes third in 1.04.17. One step from the podium the disappointman Cosmo Lucreziano, fourth in 1.05.44.
To close the event there are the 50 frogs: Edoardo Cortopassi triumphs in 31.18, Emanuele Greco is second in 31.75.
The fantastic two days in Legnano, organized by the team manager Gloria Tarantino, has united the team more. The guys are a real family. Now they are waiting impatiently to dive back into the water to do well in the race that will close the season. A successful year, which can make the coach Andrea Gargallo and the technical director Alessandro Terrin proud.
