SPORT FESTIVAL: between study and sport, wins passion
Today at LUISS, the curtain will be lifted on the traditional Sport Festival, which will be attended by all student athletes from 18.30 and for the first time by the LUISS SPORT ACADEMY Top Players who started their academic course using the “Wild card” sporty. The event, led by journalist RAI, Alessandro Antinelli, will be held in partnership with EUROSPORT, the sports network of the Discovery Italia group and the official broadcaster of the upcoming Olympic Games editions from 2018 to 2024, within the splendid setting of the Viale Romania, 32.
The sports event LUISS President Luigi Abete will open the sports event, which will illustrate the sporting numbers and results achieved. In the presence of numerous Federal Presidents, Coni President, Giovanni Malagò and CIP Chairman Luca Pancalli, he will be talking about the “Dual Career”, the central theme of the LUISS SPORT ACADEMY, an idea strongly advocated by the Predecessor to the Didactics Prof. Roberto Pessi. As a concrete example of this project, will be presented by Luigi Ecuba, senior director of Sports Discovery Italia, the LUISS students-athletes, who will be joined by the Olympic athletes who from this year attend the University, such as Giorgio Avola for fencing, Filippo Tortu for athletics, Matteo Stefanini, Giorgia Pelacchi and Ludovica Serafini for rowing and then Angelica Impronta for riding, Chiara Mormile for fencing and finally Gregorio Paltrinieri, for swimming, which will be greeted by a virtual hug because he is in Australia to train.

The program on Monday, November 20, also includes the awards from the top of the University, including LUISS General Manager, Giovanni Lo Storto, LUISS teams and athletes for the sporting activity of 2016-2017. Finally, an archery demonstration is planned, organized in collaboration with the Italian Federation of Archery Tire, which will see the participation of very large champions belonging to sports teams such as those of the Navy, the Military Air Force and the Penitentiary Police, including Marco Galiazzo, the first Italian to win the Olympics.
