College soccer, Luiss team continues to grind out victories
Thursday, December 15, at the USD Tor di Quinto field saw another match for the university soccer team led by Coach Giovannetti, who won another three points. This time it was the Erasmus players who came out on top, in what had the appearance of a real clash for the top.
The match was close from the start, with the Erasmus boys in control of ball possession for much of the first half, even touching the lead on a couple of occasions. In the second half, however, the character of ours comes out, going ahead with a beautiful powerful shot in the scrum by Battistini. Erasmus tried to attack, but without creating dangerous chances, with the exception of a header from a corner kick, which Astolfi responded to with a beautiful save. In the final minutes, Tamba brings us up 2-0 with a great diagonal low shot on a counterattack, making the team and fans present explode with joy. Opponents make time to shorten the distance in the last minute of recovery, but, despite the final arrear, we hold the result with great spirit of sacrifice.
With these three very important points, we are on full points after four league games. The next game for the Luiss University Football team will be on Jan. 30 against Unicamillus
