B league basketball, Luiss Roma routs Teramo and flies first
On Sunday, February 26, we witness a great performance by Luiss, which physically dominates Teramo and wins away from home 54-82.
Ruvo’s simultaneous defeat in Roseto gives Luiss first place in the standings tied with Ruvo, but the win in Ruvo rewards Luiss.
It is an incredible and unexpected ranking for Luiss, but it must also be said at this point of the season, deserved. Paccariè’s team is impressing opponents and insiders for character and winning mentality: two characteristics that combined with the team’s talent make it a perfect machine.
Teramo is not a team to be underestimated; Paccariè knows this and motivates his boys. The first quarter is hard-fought and ends with Luiss ahead by two points at 17-19 thanks to Jovovic’s 6 points and Allodi’s 5.
In the second quarter, Luiss gets even more physical and goes up on defense. A super triple by Fallucca and then one by Legnini allow the undergraduates to escape 25-35. It is the first stretch and it will be the decisive one. The first half ends 31-39.
In the second half, defenses tighten up and percentages drop. Allodi scores 33-44. Then comes Barbon’s triple for 33-48 and finally Allodi’s hook for 36-50. Luiss runs away.
It goes into the final quarter at 44-59. Luiss gets its hands on the match and flies to +20. Teramo has none left and the game ends early with a final score of 54-82.
The next challenge awaiting Luiss as leaders is Saturday, March 4 against Pescara at the Palaluiss.
