University soccer, Luiss team wins against La Sapienza
On Thursday, February 23, the Luiss University Football team returned to victory, redeeming last week’s defeat at home to Campus BioMedico.
Our boys host La Sapienza, second to last in the standings. The match remained in balance for a long time, with few significant chances on either side, until, towards the end of the first half, we got a well-deserved double advantage: first with Gatti’s goal thanks to a header from a corner kick, on Dore’s cross, then with that of bomber Tamba, who crossed with a powerful left and concluded a perfect counter-attack, again on Dore’s service.
In the second half, Coach Giovannetti’s team tried to maintain control of the match, managing the pace of possession and neutralizing the opponents’ attacks. Although La Sapienza manages to halve the disadvantage ten minutes from the end with a goal in a melee on a corner kick, we manage, without great concern, to avoid further danger. We thus bring home the victory and three crucial points in the race for the top spot.
