Bronze in the 4×100 relay mixed women for our student Margherita Panziera at the World Championships in China!
The World Swimming Championships in short pools, held in Hangzhou (China), ended on December 16th.
In the last afternoon of the finals our student athlete Margherita Panziera, enrolled in the first year of the Master in Marketing, won the bronze in the relay 4×100 mixed women, competing with Martina Carraro, Elena di Liddo and Federica Pellegrini and sharing the podium with the Americans and the hosts of China.
The medal, came with the disqualification of Australia, has rewarded an excellent performance of the “azzurre” that have set the new Italian record.
For our student it was a real exam that, after the triumph at the European Championships in Glasgow last August, she easily passed.
Margherita took part in the relay, then in bronze, the 100 and 200 meters backstroke, classifying herself respectively fifteenth and fifth and arriving at her first world championship final together with some champions such as Katinka Hosszu and Emily Seebohm.
As demonstrated by a tattoo depicting a lion, right on her back, Margherita Panziera is proof of how it is possible, with tenacity, to reconcile the development of sporting activities at the highest level, with the continuation of university studies. This vision is also shared by LUISS University, which was the first of its kind in Italy to set up scholarships for sporting merits and to set up the Dual Career course through the LUISS Sport Program.
